Love the hot bits, love the warm bits, and love the occasional cold touches like Coram knowing how human tastes. Also lines ‘like a pet snake’, and ‘bouncing around was childish and not at all proper for a Basalisk’.

Thanks, too, for all those good solid details, like Than’s snakeness (‘scent memories’!), the difference of ‘tuneless humming’, and Coram being poor enough to have shabby bed and clothes.
